Of course there are some advantages to CSCL, as mentioned in previous postings. These advantages must be exploited. But when pupils meet face-to-face everyday, normal communication should be the main part of the collaboration. Certain specific things can be done on computer (like writing summaries of discussion, document sharing, prototyping), but these have to be agreed upon beforehand.
Please avoid silly situations like a class full of students behind a chatspace or discussion space, and a teacher walking around telling them to shut their mouths.
