School of Comfort

Soothing Through Sensation
Creating
a healthy mind and body are key to a long and happy life. There are
several factors that contribute to our health. Eating right and
exercising are important to develop a healthy mind and body and will
also build immunity against various diseases. Massage schools offer
students a range of massage classes and accompanies these with some
basic medical tutelage. The school of thought that prevention is better
than cure, speaks volumes in the area of longevity. One aspect which is
frequently neglected is mental health. It has also been associated that a
healthy mind is also key to a longer life. Massage therapy is a simple
way to east mental tension on various levels. A massage therapy school
will teach individuals the skill of massage and will assure them of a
career in the field as well.

Stress Relief and Mental Health
Stress
is a fundamental cause of illness and death which many people ignore.
Stress can worsen terminal illnesses and studies and statistics show
that increased hypertension through stress over an illness is just as
much the cause of death as the illness itself. This means that a
healthier lifestyle is important for many and it goes without saying
that reduction in stress can also help to give better health. Massage
therapy is one such way to relieve stress. Massage involves a rhythmic
motion of the hands over the skin in a way that relaxes the muscles of
the body. The nervous system is thus affected and the muscular tension
release results in an overall reduced stress level. All these concepts
are explored in detail at the LA James College so students will
effectively deliver massages without hurting patients and clients.

Massage School Ideologies
Many
schools will teach the concepts of aromatherapy and what is called
thermo-therapy. This involves the alternating of hot and cold surfaces
on the skin, letting muscles and tendons contract and expand on their
own. Aromatherapy is simpler to apply and is used in tandem with massage
therapy. As many senses are stimulated, the massage will become more
efficient as it operates on the brain.

Getting an Education for the Future

You may have decided that you are ready to go back to school.  Finding a program that interests you is important.  Typically, it is a great idea to enroll in a program that has a good job outlook for the future.  You also want to make sure whatever schooling you are looking into, it has the program available.  If you want to work in cosmetology, you most likely will look into a beauty college.  For engineering, you will enroll into a school known for engineering.

Both of these can be great prospects for jobs in the future.  Many beauty schools offer different types of programs such as cosmetology, esthiology, or massage therapy.  You can choose to take classes in all these areas or specialize in one specific program.  Each of these programs is great for finding a job upon completion.  Many allow you to retrieve a license so that you can work in the specified field.  A great thing about the beauty industry is you can open your own salon and make money through various ways.

Just like beauty school, an engineering program can also be a good field to go in.  The job outlook is great and the field is specialized.  Not all schools have beauty programs and engineering programs.  You must look through the programs the school offers to know if you should apply to that school.  Most of the schools will allow you to do a walk through so you can see if the school is right for you.  You can get a feel for how the big the classrooms are, what the campus looks like, and the facilities available to you.  To begin enrollment in any program you must first fill out an application to the school.  Once admitted, it is best to talk to a school counselor to advise you on a schedule.

Duties of a Professional Nail Technician

A large majority of women consider themselves to be pretty good at doing their own nails until they actually go out and get it done professionally. Some women will further continue to delude themselves by thinking that the professionals only achieve their high level of quality because of their professional tools. While the tools play a part, 90% of the technicians that are able to effectively produce a quality manicure and /or pedicure, is able to do so because they took part in professional nail technician courses.

The courses are not just about applying a neat layer of nail polish, but rather a complete course on overall nail care. Additionally, trained nail technicians will also be more able to perform intricate techniques and create complex designs. Nail art is not just about a manicure anymore, its about making a statement and women do not often want to make the same statement as someone else. Like with any other trends, people will follow and take part, but they often want to add their own spin to the initial basic design. A nail technician should be able to carry out the designs and procedures requested by their client, but should also be knowledgeable and professional enough to advise their client of bad decisions or potentially harmful ones.

A good nail technician course should include both theory and hands-on practice to ensure that the emitting students are fully knowledgeable as well as skillful. Not all techniques may be mastered, but nail technician courses should attempt to teach most if not all of the following courses. Manicure, Pedicure, Nail tips – which is among the most requested service, Airbrushing, Nail art, Gel nails, Filling and a host of other techniques. Additionally, the courses should cover salon management and proper sanitation. School leavers should not only be able to work in an already established nail salon, but they should also be able to effectively operate their own.

The Euro-CSCL Project

Euro-cscl.org has merged with LeMill.net. You’re welcome to join the community there. Access to the ITCOLE project publications is still available.

This web site originally functioned as a community site and resource of information for practitioners (teachers), researchers and school administrators in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) field. Community functions have moved to LeMill, but you will continue here to find news and best practices from CSCL community, links to CSCL research, and information about CSCL software tools.

The www.euro-cscl.org website was originally initiated by ITCOLE (Innovative Technologies for Collaborative Learning and Knowledge Building) project. The project was funded by The European Commission in the Information Society Technologies (IST) framework; IST-00-III.2 ‘School of Tomorrow’.

Authors of the website were members of the original CSCL community. The members were able to post news to the website, share their best experiences of practicing CSCL in education by posting descriptions of their school projects, propose information about different CSCL software tools and have discussions. All the news items and articles of the Idea Bank posted to the website are edited and published by the editors selected from the people actively participating in euro-cscl.org web site. This information, to the greatest extent positive, has been maintained here for its archival value to site visitors.
