I just read the call for proposals documents. I found out that probably the best idea would be to build a project around the euro-cscl.org community. The subjects of the call are:
1. Peer Reviews (exchange and analysis of good practice and policy);
2. Networks of collaboration (‘clusters’ and Special Interest Groups — SIGs);
3. Observatories (comparative analysis and, forecasting).
What we (are trying) do in the euro-cscl.org is already very closely related to the 1. and 2. subject. To get the community really work out we should still invest to the following issues:
(1) Commitment of the member and the editors,
(2) Rewarding active members (e.g. diplomas for those teachers whose “best practices” are included to the database?),
(3) Marketing the site,
(4) Improving the site technology & user interface,
(5) More community features (chat, better discussion forums, mailing lists?)
(6) Metadata of the content,
(7) Syndication of he content with the RSS 2.0,
(8) Internationalization / localization (more languages) etc.
I think from these pieces we could build a nice project that could answer to all three subjects of the call.
