The study course / project was focusing on the theme of diversity, starting from a general question "Do you think it's better to be different or equal?".

Students collaborated sharing ideas and reflections on diversity and building a virtual city, their Ideal City, whose name was Diversity-town, in which different people could live all together. In order to this they used a software called AWEDU (aw educational- www.activeworlds.com) for tridimensional construction and Synergeia to discuss and share information.

The course was arranged by teachers and researchers. The classrooms activities were organized during workshops. The teachers and researchers also discussed about learning contents and methods using Synergeia software. There were 74 students and 3 teachers taking part in the project. Moreover, in each class, there was an observer (a last year undergraduate) that supported the activity and collected observation data. Students were 13 years old.
